Viola Petra Köpping (born 12 June 1958 in Nordhausen, East Germany) is a German politician from the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). Previously from the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED). She was a member of the Landtag of Saxony from 2009 to 2019 and has been Saxony's Minister of State for Social Affairs and Social Cohesion in the Second Kretschmer cabinet since 2019. Before that, she was Saxony's Minister of State for Equality and Integration from 2014 to 2019. She was a candidate in the 2019 Social Democratic Party of Germany leadership election. She is her party's top candidate in the 2024 Saxony state election. Provided by Wikipedia
