Gustav Schröer

Gustav Schröer (14 January 1876 – 17 October 1949) was a German writer of ''Heimat'' fiction, as well as an editor of journals for youth. His works were noted for their powerful evocation of ordinary rural and town life in Central Germany. Having sworn loyalty to Hitler in 1933 as part of the ''Gelöbnis treuester Gefolgschaft'', several of his works were banned by the Soviet occupation authorities. Provided by Wikipedia
