Jaan Ross

Ross speaking at the Estonian Neurologists and Neurosurgeons Society winter seminar (3 December 2010) Jaan Ross (5 April 1957 – 18 January 2026) was an Estonian musicologist and psychologist whose research focused on music perception and cognition and on the acoustic description of musical sound. He was a professor at the University of Tartu (1993–2015) and at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (1995–2021), later becoming professor emeritus at the latter institution. In 2003 he was elected a member of the Estonian Academy of Sciences in the humanities. Ross also translated specialist literature and contemporary Russian fiction into Estonian. Provided by Wikipedia
